Bringing Lucas Home

Our Journey through Guatemalan Adoption

6 months old today April 26, 2007

What an amazing journey! What amazing feelings we have for a child that we’ve never met, held, or really laid eyes upon. Today marks 6 months that we’ve know about Lucas and opened our hearts to him. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that he is 6 months old and that we’ve not been able to smile at him, touch him, or watch him grow. I am so thankful that God led us to this crazy, wonderful thing called adoption. I’m so very thankful that He created adoption and first adopted us into His family. Having a child thousands of miles away from you is not an easy thing and some days it almost seems unbearable especially since he is so small and helpless. He truly is as much our child as our 3 girls are and already fills a special place in our heart that we didn’t even know was empty. God amazes me with how He can fill a void that you didn’t even know was present.

We pray a special blessing over our little boy today as he turns 6 months old. A life full of unspeakable joy , laughter, love, wisdom, and family! We pray that he feels a special touch from God today and feels His presence like never before. We pray that God allows Lucas to feel our love and never feel alone or abandoned. We pray that he’ll know God at an early age and find favor all the days of his life. We pray that until we can love on him that he finds favor with a caregiver that will nuture and protect him. We ask all these things in the name of our Lord and Savior and know that because it is within His will, he’ll hasten to complete it and the good work He has started!

Thanks for your continued support and prayers! Still clinging to God and the hope we’ll be able to bring Lucas home in May!

The luncheon went really well April 25, 2007

Thank you so much those of you that came to the luncheon or bought hash to benefit our adoption. We were so pleased and humbled by everyone’s generosity. We did raise quite a bit of money that will be put directly on our expenses. God is whittling away at our debt and we are excited to see Him move! All your support and prayers mean so much to us!

We are so ready to bring our little boy home and are still believing for the end of May. Please pray for that too. I know that God’ s timing is perfect, but often it’s so hard to wait on isn’t it? Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for caring about our family and Lucas.

We went back in today (remember this is that final phase of reviewing our file that we’ve been out of for 6 weeks)! We are so thankful for the Lord moving on our behalf! What a mighty God we serve! We are believing for this to be a short stay!! We are still hanging onto the hope that we’ll be able to go and get Lucas at the end of May. Join us in prayer because without God moving, it won’t be possible. My God is able to do more than I could imagine and I am so thankful!! Thanks for supporting us and joining us on this journey. Please continue to thank God for Lucas’s healing from the chicken pox and for the healing of Gabi Yeomans, Chloe Vinson, and Scott Parris.

Chicken Pox April 13, 2007

I forgot to tell you all that Lucas has chicken pox! Poor Baby! He, along with 7 other babies in the home, have chicken pox. We were told he is handling it pretty well but apparently looks pretty bad as they didn’t even want to send us the monthly pictures because of it. Pray for comfort and a quick healing. Just makes you want to hug on him doesn’t it? We so appreciate all your support!

A little news to pray about… April 12, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — Janet @ 7:47 am

We found out this week that we are not back in PGN yet due to an error on a document from the Guatemalan government. Our attorney is trying to get that document fixed so we have to wait until it is complete before we can re-enter. Please join us in prayer that this document will be fixed this week and we will re-enter PGN. Join us in believing that we will speed though the rest of this process and bring Lucas home in MAY! Thanks for your support and prayers!

Happy Resurrection Day! April 7, 2007

What a wonderful time of the year! Although I would like for it to be a little warmer, I can’t complain about the season or that we are celebrating that Jesus rose from the dead! What a glorious miraculous thing! I pray that you find hope in the Lord and in the season. We are certainly looking forward to the 35+ people that will be at our house on Easter as well as the many visitors that will come to church and specifically our children’s ministry. We are praying for many salvations and changed lives. We are praying that Lucas will feel the touch of our Lord and will be supernaturally protected. Thank you so much for your support and prayers! We hope you will have a wonderful holiday filled with love, family, and rest! Happy Resurrection Day!
