Our Story December 19, 2006

Tim and I were married in August of 1997 and knew that we wanted children. In November 98 McKenzie came as a blessing and in October 2000 we were blessed with Reagan. We “took a few years off” from having children but knew there would be another. I began praying about adopting because it was something that I had always been interested in. We researched and decided we were going to adopt domestically, but wait until the beginning of the year as to get through the holidays (this was September). Well, we never got through the beginning of the year to think about adoption because I found out I was pregnant with Kennedy in October. Needless to say we never actually turned in the paperwork that we had. Adoption has always been in the back of my mind and the Lord brought it up again in August of 2006. I talked to Tim (or talked him into it) and we officially began the process October 10, 2006. We decided on international adoption because we felt like that is what God was calling us to do and really didn’t want a newborn, but wanted a toddler. Now that we are in the process we really want our newborn son home as soon as possible! We rushed as much as we could and got all of our documents off to Guatemala on December 4, 2006. We receive updates on Lucas every 4-6 weeks with new pictures. We will keep you posted as we are!
